We have established a few simple rules to help us make the season enjoyable and productive for everyone.
1) Notify coaches in advance if you must miss a practice or tournament. 2) Observe the dress code at practice and tournaments. 3) Practice times listed are the times we take the court to play volleyball. Players arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time to help set up the courts and stay until courts are taken down. 4) Everybody has a role. Players play. Coaches coach. Referee's call the game. Parents provide support and encouragement. (And money!) 5) Play for the name on the front of the jersey instead of the one on the back. Everybody shares team responsibilities. Show up in time to help set up the court and stay to take down the nets & stow equipment. On tournament days, everybody stays until everyone is done with lines and scorekeeping. 6) Players and parents will observe the '24 hour rule' for discussing playing time and positions with coaches. Tournaments are too intense, hectic and draining to do justice to those subjects on the spot. Coaches will not discuss playing time with parents on the U15, U16 & 17 teams. Players are encouraged to discuss their concerns with their coaches directly. 7) Play hard. Have fun. And don't make the Coach run! |
