Changes for 2007/2008

The Coaches met after the season to discuss what worked, and what we could do better.  Overall we were pleased with last season - and were not happy with some things.
So we are making a number of changes to get better.

  1. Stabilize Rosters & Schedules Early.
We will  have tryouts in November and set 10 person rosters at the beginning of the season.  Due to gym availability, we will have a limited schedule during basketball season, but we will form up early.  We will set the tournament schedule early, and and stick with the same players, coaches, and practice schedules

  2. Increase Player Commitment
Our attempts to accommodate outside activities was a worthy experiment that just didn't work.  We will expect a higher level of commitment to practice and tournament schedules thist year. Club volleyball is not for everyone and we certainly wish those with other priorities well with volleyball as well as their other activities.

  3. Compete at a Higher Level
We will  field teams that can practice at a high level and be more competitive in tournaments.  We will have fewer teams and competitive tryouts.  Invitations to play  will based on skills and potential to play at the HS level.

  4. Continuously Improve Quality of Coaching Instruction
Our coaches bring high level playing and youth coaching experience, and we are lucky to have such  a strong group!  They love coaching & are committed to learning the latest methods.  As a result of Off-Season training we are proud that Gold Medal Squared has recognized us as a Certified Club Program

  5. Increase Team Level Focus
Last year featured a lot of control at the Club level.   The Club will continue to do practice and gym scheduling, finances, uniforms and registration.  This year, each coach will have more control over which tournaments are entered and be responsible for coordinating  changes to schedules with their teams.
